Wallasey Village · Family home · Garage conversion & change of use
CompletedFollowing an assessment of the existing property and discussions with the homeowners, the proposal transformed an under-used ground-floor garage into a series of practical, well-connected rooms supporting everyday family living.

The works focused on converting the garage, improving circulation and introducing new service spaces — a utility room and a new WC. The conversion provides essential additional facilities while creating a functional and organised area for everyday use, with the garage brought up to habitable standard for insulation, damp protection, ventilation and fire separation.
Converting a garage within the existing structure is often permitted development, but a change to the frontage or an old planning condition can mean permission is needed — always confirmed against the specific property first.
A garage conversion needs building-regulations approval — insulation, damp-proofing, floor levels, ventilation and fire separation.
A functional, well-planned and modern ground-floor layout that improves day-to-day living. The conversion and the new service spaces make the home feel more organised and practical.
Photos show the real project — designed by SC Design Wirral and built by the homeowner's own builder. Images labelled “Design visualisation” show the proposed design, not a photograph of a finished build.
